ASUS's "EVA-02" Evangelion product lineup has taken the industry by storm, and now they have finally hit retail in the US, coming at a hefty price tag.
ASUS Evangelion "EVA-02" Features Great Aesthetics, Elegant Red Color Scheme Combined With "ROG STRIX" Quality
For those unaware, Evangelion "EVA-02" is ASUS's newly released "enthusiast" lineup, targeted at anime lovers since they revolve around the "Neon Genesis Evangelion series. They feature an elegant red colour scheme, coupled with the series's characters and branding all over, which gives a distinctive look. One can say that the Evangelion series is placed right alongside the ROG STRIX products since they feature the same design language and overall build quality. However, those looking to acquire it might need to break their banks.
After seeing retail in China, the ASUS ROG STRIX Evangelion GeForce RTX 4090 was finally listed on Newegg, with a premium "$2,299" price tag. To give you an idea about the variant's pricing, it is almost a bump of 70% from the GPU's original MSRP. Premiumness always comes with a price, evident with the Evangelion GeForce RTX 4090. However, the variant is priced slightly higher than it should've been; hence, those interested can wait a while to snag it at the right price. We discussed the GPU's capabilities and aesthetics in a detailed coverage, which you can view here.
Apart from the GPU, ASUS has also listed other Evangelion products, starting with a dedicated ROG Maximus Z790 Evangelion. I am sure everyone here knows what the "Maximus" branding has brought to the table regarding performance and compatibility, and the Evangelion motherboard is no exception. It is fully stacked regarding VRM Thermals, PCIe support, and port connectivity.
Focusing on the more important part, the ROG Maximus Z790 Evangelion yet again comes with an elegant red scheme and a customized VRM heatsink to match the overall "Evangelion" vibe. This has to be one of the best-looking motherboards out there, and with a price tag of $699, it is more accessible compared to the GPU counterpart.
To complete the package, ASUS has also introduced the ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB EVA-02 EDITION, which transmits the "Evangelion" vibes, featuring a similar design language compared to other entrants in the lineup. Featuring a 360mm radiator, the ROG Ryujin III is generally regarded in the industry's "higher-end" cooling solution; hence, expect similar results with this model. While the AIO comes with a bumped-up price compared to the original model, the extra cost is definitely due to the extra aesthetics.
The ASUS "EVA-02" Evangelion lineup holds its place in the industry, and it is by far the best-looking lineup, depending upon how you see it. Its premium pricing may leave some consumers out, but this is what you should expect with an "exclusive" lineup.
