Ghost Recon Wildlands Shows Off Special Ops 4 PvE Guerrilla Mode, New PvP Maps, and More

Last week Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon Wildlands Special Operation 4, the game’s last big Year 2 update. The initial Special Ops 4 reveal left some details vague, but now Ubisoft has fully unveiled the game’s new PvP Guerrilla mode, PvP Ghost War maps and class, and more! Sadly, it seems this season won’t have a special crossover theme —  Special Operation 1 guest-starred Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell fame, Special Operation 2 was Rainbow Six Siege themed, and Special Operation 3 was Future Soldier themed. That said, Wildlands players are still getting a solid amount of new content. Check out the Special Operations 4 trailer, below.

Here’s a rundown of all the new Special Ops 4 content:

Free PvE Mode: Guerrilla

Test your endurance with our brand new PvE mode: Guerrilla. In Guerrilla Mode you and up to 4 friends will face waves of Cartel and Unidad members. You will earn XP, Tier points, and Prestige Credits for completing waves. Completing all 25 waves for the first time will also grant you an exclusive gear set.

Community Requested Features

  • Time of Day Setting: You will now be able to choose your time of day via a new setting available for solo campaign and solo Ghost Mode. Once you choose your selected time of day from the menu, you will re-deploy to the nearest spawn point.
  • Custom Match Browser in Ghost War: You will now be able to set your own criteria to filter matches based.
  • Compass: The compass from Ghost War will now be a HUD option for PvE.

Ghost War

New Class – Sapper

The Sapper is a new Support class option that deploys a specialized drone that shoots “concussion” mines. These mines drain stamina from players and suppresses them, slowing down their rush.

New Ghost War Maps

  • Gas Station
  • Airbase

If you need to know about every minor tweak and bug fix on the way, you can check out the full Special Operations 4 patch notes, right here.

Most of the Special Operation 4 content (with the exception of cosmetic stuff) will be free, although Year 2 Pass owners will have one-week early access. Year 2 Pass owners also get access to one exclusive customization pack. The Year 2 Pass costs $25.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Special Operation 4 drops tomorrow (February 27) for Year 2 Pass holders.
