New Halo MCC January Update adds Modern Aiming Feature; Smooths Out Aim Acceleration Zones

New Halo MCC January Update

The recently released Halo MCC January update has added a modern aiming feature that makes movement of the aiming cursor much smoother.

Developer 343 Industries detailed the new feature in an official blog post on the Halo Waypoint, and according to community director Brian ‘Ske7ch’ Jarrard, the feature was introduced to “help address feedback from some players that aim acceleration in MCC doesn’t “feel right.””

The new aiming setting has been turned on by default in the older titles. Those who don’t want to make use of ‘modern aiming’ can turn it off via the Controller Settings menus.

“The “modern aiming” option helps to smooth out the aim acceleration zones on your controller by using values that are more like H2A and H4 than the older legacy titles”, 343 Industries writes. “The big difference you will notice is that the movement of your cursor is much smoother with these settings turned on and the aim acceleration zones in the diagonals are much harder to activate.”

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now for Xbox One. The game received a huge update to fix numerous issues and add support for the Xbox One X back in September of last year.
