Elon Musk appears to be sticking to his guns when it comes to the apparent pressure tactics employed by the Jewish advocacy group Anti-Defence League (ADL), refusing to partake of an off-ramp of sorts that has appeared in the form of an upcoming meeting between the world's richest person and the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
To wit, as per the reporting by the Washington Post, Elon Musk was trying to defuse the ADL controversy, seeking the help of his Jewish allies, including Netanyahu, in smoothing the proverbial ruffled feathers.
This discussion was planned several weeks ago and is about AI, not the Defamation League (they dropped the “A”)

However, Elon Musk has taken umbrage to this characterization, plainly elaborating that the meeting was planned weeks in advance and that the conversation would focus on AI instead of his beef with the ADL.
For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Elon Musk announced toward the start of September that he was considering filing a formal lawsuit against ADL, accusing the Jewish advocacy group of wiping anywhere between $4 billion and $22 billion of X's value by orchestrating an advertiser-led boycott, one that reduced the social media platform's US revenues by as much as 60 percent.
While explaining the ADL's alleged modus operandi, Elon Musk asserted that advertisers seek to avoid controversy, which is the only logical outcome once the ADL comes out with a fiery condemnation of a particular entity.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk recently took the stage on the All-In Podcast 2023 to shed light on the ADL controversy as well as that related to Starlink and Ukraine. Musk again reiterated his stance that ADL precipitated a "never-ending pause" by advertisers against X, terming the impact of this move on the social media platform as "pretty intense." Elon Musk also cited unspecified third parties who concluded that there was less hate speech on the platform as opposed to the situation before his takeover. He also pointed out the absurdity of declaring Donal Trump anti-semitic when the former president's own son-in-law was Jewish.
On the Starlink controversy vis-a-vis Ukraine, Elon Musk clarified that the satellite internet connectivity was suspended around Crimea due to the sanctions imposed by the US on Russia. While recounting the context behind Starlink's decision to refuse to switch on internet connectivity around Crimea so as to allow Ukraine to mount a coordinated drone attack, Elon Musk asserted that the request should have come through the office of the US President or the Department of Defense, declaring that Starlink has no obligation to fulfill the requests of a foreign government.
On the AI front, Elon Musk postulated that the new technology could be as dangerous as nuclear weapons if left unchecked. The CEO of Tesla appeared to take umbrage at the fact that OpenAI was conceptualized as a non-profit organization but appeared to be moving towards a "maximum profit" orientation. He also touted the "real-world AI" capabilities of Tesla and explained that the rationale behind creating xAI was to create a true contender to OpenAI, which has allegedly regressed from its raison d'ĂŞtre.
