It was recently covered that Apple is looking to expand its iPad lineup with a foldable option. The same report also mentions that Google working on a foldable Pixel tablet that might see daylight in the near future. Google recently unveiled its Pixel tablet which offers some unique features for an enhanced user experience. According to the report, the foldable Pixel tablet could prove to be an important product for the company.

We have recently covered the launch of Samsung's latest Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 with improved hinges for a better foldable experience. Apple has not unveiled any foldable device as of now but is working to launch a foldable iPad. While launch details are not known at this stage, the company could be testing the device internally for now.

Google has already launched its Pixel Fold and the company could be now working to launch a foldable Pixel tablet. Google has been a latecomer in the smartphone and tablet industry despite making software for other companies. It could be true that Google wants to jump in and launch a product that no other company is yet planning o do so. However, if our speculations are on point, the company should announce the foldable Pixel tablet as soon as it can.

DigiTimes reports sources familiar with the matter coin that if the search engine giant launches a foldable Pixel tablet as soon as next year at its I/O event, it could turn out to be a key product. The report mentions that the company is only considering a device as of yet and is not testing or developing prototypes for the foldable tablet. While there is room for a new contender in the industry, the timeline mentioned by the report is a little too early for Google.

This is not the first time that we are hearing details on a foldable tablet. Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Fold and Asus Zenbook 17 Fold are two contenders in the industry but both companies have partnered with Microsoft for Windows software. This means that a foldable tablet running Android does not yet exist in the market and a Pixel-branded tablet would make a lot of sense. Samsung is working on foldable tablets as well but it has not revealed any product as of yet. We will share more details on the subject as soon as further information is available.
