iOS 17 Could Feature a Revamped Control Center on iPhone With “Major” Changes

iOS 17 Control Center Changes and Features

It has been a debate since yesterday if the iPhone X will be compatible with iOS 17. Earlier rumors suggested that Apple will drop support for the operating system on all A11 devices which includes the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus, Today, another leak coined that all iPhone models that support iOS 16 will be compatible with iOS 17. While the final word rests with Apple, a new leak claims that iOS 17 Control Center will feature major changes on iPhone.

One of the prominent additions coming with iOS 17 is the Control Center, slated to feature major changes

Apple has announced that it will be hosting its WWDC 2023 event from June 5 to June 5. Apple will also announce its forthcoming updates for the Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac, and iPad. However, the highlight of the event will potentially be iOS 17. At this point, it is unclear if iOS 17 will bring front-facing changes to the table as details on the operating system have been scarce. However, Gurman coined recently that iOS 17 will be a major update and it will not be a 'maintenance' update. Today, a leaker states that iOS 17 will bring significant additions to the Control Center on iPhone.

The anonymous source shared details on the platform in an email to MacRumors stating that iOS 17 will feature performance enhancements on new as well as older devices along with improved stability. Apple seems to be focusing more on the operating system's overall performance rather than adding a plethora of features. This could be because iOS 16 was crawling with bugs and issues at launch that users had to endure. iOS 16 is still experiencing WiFi and Weather app issues on iPhone. iOS 17 could potentially offer a redesigned Control Center which is essentially the same as when it debuted almost five years ago.

iOS 17 Control Center Changes and Features

The leaker did not share additional details on the design and layout of icons or features but a revamped Control Center would be more than a welcome addition with iOS 17. The Control Center is responsible for a wide range of operations such as network, connectivity, utilities, and much more. You also have the option to customize the Control Center according to your preferences.

The Control Center on iOS 16 is pretty bland with icons stacked neatly across the screen. Control Center on iOS 17 could feature design changes that resemble the Home app layout. Furthermore, iOS 17 could bring additional features related to the solid-state buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Take note that these are mere speculations at this stage and the final word rests with Apple. We will keep you guys posted as soon as further details are available. The latest also suggests that iPhone X and iPhone 8 models will support Apple's forthcoming iOS 17 update.

While the primary focus of the event is the release of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, macOS 14, and tvOS 17, we are also expecting new hardware. The company might see fit to unveil its rumored AR Headset at the WWDC event with the public release expected to take place later on. Additionally, the company is also working on a bigger variant of the M2 MacBook Air with a 15.5-inch display.

This is all there is to it, folks. What features do you wish to see in iOS 17? Let us know in the comments.
