Here is Your First Look at Official Pixel Fold Renders, Showing the Cleanest Foldable Design That is Both Compact and Functional

The Pixel Fold is only 11 days away from launch, and so far, we have had the chance to learn a lot about the upcoming foldable from Google. We do know all the specs and the steep price Google will charge, but the one thing that has been missing happens to be some proper press renders. Well, that changes today as we have our hands on the official Pixel Fold press renders, showing the phone in the Obsidian colorway, and honestly, I am a fan.

Official Pixel Fold renders show just how stunning the foldable looks

Renowned leaker Evan Blass shared the renders of the Pixel Fold on his Twitter account. The phone shown is in the Obsidian colorway, and honestly, this is the first time that I have looked at a foldable and said, "okay, this is nice," you can look at the picture below:

The picture you are looking at showcases a very compact Pixel Fold, but the one thing that caught my eye is how the cover display actually looks like it has a proper aspect ratio. This has been a common problem with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold devices, where the cover display is a lot narrower, making people resort to using the internal display, which is not convenient all the time, especially when you are out and about. I do love how clean the design looks here.

The second render shows the device folded up, and honestly, it does still look good and very functional, at least when compared to the other foldable in the market. I get that the bezels are a bit thicker than some other devices, but I doubt that it will make a difference. Honestly, looking at the foldable for the first time, I am actually a fan of Pixel Fold.

The Pixel Fold is going to be officially unveiled on May 10th, later this year. The phone will feature Google's Tensor G2 chipset and will be available in two storage variants and colors. You can get the complete spec sheet here, as it would give you an idea of what Google has in store for us.

Honestly, I wasn't excited about the Pixel Fold before, but after seeing the official renders, I surely am looking forward to it. The device looks excellent. It actually looks like it could be used even when it is folded. I am hoping Samsung does something with the external display of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 because it's high time.
