Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra Gets Massive Specifications Leak, Providing Details About Dimensions, Weight, 16GB Next-Gen RAM Support, More

Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

Samsung is rumored to go ‘all out’ with the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, and the latest specifications provided by one tipster could be evidence that the company is preparing a proper iPad Pro competitor with laptop-equivalent hardware. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming flagship tablet.

Specifications leak reveals that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra could effectively replace your laptop with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM upgrade

Starting with the dimensions, Ice Universe published a tweet stating that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will measure 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.5mm and that there will be no change compared to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. He turned out to be right when we double-checked Samsung’s current-generation high-end tablet’s dimensions. The display is said to measure 14.6 inches diagonally, with a 2960 x 1848 resolution.

Compared to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, there appears to be no difference here either, suggesting that apart from maybe tweaking the colors, brightness, power efficiency, and other attributes, Samsung may use the same panel for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. If true, this is smart thinking from the company, as it helps the Korean giant avoid any unnecessary production cost increases. Also, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra was already too large to begin with, so there was no point in extending that display size.

The 11,200mAh battery is also said to be the same between both tablets, though a previous rumor mentioned that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would feature a smaller cell. Regardless, it will be advantageous for future customers to get this upgrade, especially now since the massive slate is rumored to arrive with the highly efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the same one powering the Galaxy S23 lineup, which only means slightly higher CPU and GPU clock speeds. Given the size of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, it should effortlessly cool down the SoC.

Last but certainly not least, we have support for 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The current-generation Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra could also be topped out with 16GB RAM, but it was slower and consumed more power. However, it is unlikely that Samsung will provide a 16GB RAM option for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra as a standard, and customers will have to move their way up in the price brackets to get that much memory. We also do not believe Samsung to be customer-friendly with its asking price, so expect to pay a premium for these.

Assuming these specifications turn out to be true, Samsung would have effectively used the same dimension specifications for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra to save a little money. That is not a terrible strategy by any means, and consumers who actually pick it up will probably welcome the chipset and memory upgrades.
