Lauco’s USB-C Cables Are Tough And Backed with Lifetime Warranty – Review

Lauco Cables 2

Lauco has launched the world's most rugged cables which include a 100W USB-C to USB-C cable, and an 18W USB-C to Lightning. These cables are heat and bend resistant, which means that they will not fray like Apple's cables often do. They also work with everything you can throw at them: iPhones, iPad, MacBooks, Android smartphones, Nintendo Switch and more. We got the cables for review from Lauco, read on to find out more.

Package

The packaging is as simplistic as it can be for a cable. When you open the box, it contains the cable, neatly packed, and a card, in case you need support. A cable tie made of leather is included with each cable, which makes it easy to repackage them to save space. The card and box specifically mention the lifetime warranty that Lauco offers for the cables, which is a big deal and a major reason to buy them.

Design and Usage

The cables have a rugged braided finish which makes them extremely strong. The material used for the cables is Kevlar, the same material that is used in bulletproof vests. I have a collection of braided cables from various manufacturers with me and I can safely say that none of them meet the premium quality that these cables offer. The leather tie is also a useful add-on, which makes it easy to roll-up the cables when not in use.

I have been using these cables to charge my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch and iPhone X and I can happily say that the charging speed is second to none. Compared to the previous cable I was using to fast charge my iPhone X, Luaco's cable has been helping me charge the phone up to 50% in 30 minutes. The USBC-C to Lightning cable's MFi certification certainly helps in this.

During data transfer tests between my MacBook and an external drive, I was able to see constantly fast transfers with the USB-C to USB-C cable, thanks to support for USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard.

Luaco has shown people pulling cars and lifting other heavy equipment with the cables to show their strength. The cables can lift up to 500kg weight. Due to the lockdown, I was unable to do similar testing, but after a few pull and tug tests on the cables, I can safely say that I can use these to lift heavy equipment if needed.

Conclusion

There are not many products where it is difficult to point out even a single flaw. Luaco's cables are a unique example of such products. Luaco has thrown the kitchen sink of features at these cables, and backed them up with lifetime warranty. They also charge devices quickly without heating up and don't fraying and break due to bending. This means that once you buy these cables, you are good to go for a long, long time.

The cables are available for "super early bird" backers for just $14 on Kickstarter, which is a steal for the quality and convenience these cables offer. Similar cables by other companies cost almost double this price, and are not usually as strong as they use silicon or nylon instead of Kevlar.

If you are looking for a cable to fast charge your iPhone, or a cable for your iPad Pro, MacBook or Android smartphone, Lauco cables are a no-brainer. Luaco's Kickstarter is still open for a few days so make sure to check them out.
