Google’s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are due for launch next month, and we’re witnessing a plethora of leaks these days. It’s appearing as if Google has once again misplaced Pixel units, and these are making it on the interweb in the form of leaks. These leaks have shown us that we should expect at least three color variants of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL this year. Out of these, it’s the Orange variant that is the latest addition on the rumor mill, and today we’ve got another leak for it. Take a look below for more details.
Pixel 4 Hands-On Video Allegedly Shows Device’s New Orange Color Variant
Google’s had a tough time selling the Pixels, despite the fact that the smartphones feature amazing camera features. However, these alone have proven insufficient to entice customers for a purchase; a fact that’s also aided by poor design choices for the lineup. The Pixel 3 XL, for instance, has a large display notch that’s unsightly. Its smaller brother, the Pixel 3 has thick bezels, which in the world of Samsung’s Galaxies Note 10 and S10 is simply outdated.
With the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Google needs to do something different if it’s to snatch market share away from the iPhone and other Androids. To that end, we’re expecting a big camera upgrade on the smartphones that will allow them to surpass the Huawei P30 Pro in terms of zoom capabilities. Additionally, the new Orange color variant might be striking enough to attract young users into Google’s fold.
Taking a look at the video above, the Orange Pixel 4 appears to have a sleek finish. The new dual-camera sensor in its square housing is visible on the top-left, and if you look closely at the top left at the end of the video, you’ll see that the power button is characteristically white, making it stand out from the device’s body and frame. The Google logo is present at the smartphone’s bottom, and the gadget’s black frame contrasts well with its orange back.
Aesthetically, this look might prove sufficient to draw attention away from the Pixel 4’s thick top front bezel that will house the device’s Soli radar chip. The functionality offered by Soli might also prove sufficient to make users forget the ugliness of the top bezel. But, unless the Pixels 4 pick up their performance, we’re afraid that these features might prove insufficient.
