Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Is Officially In The Works, CDPR Confirms

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to receive a multiplayer mode, and it will be made available after release, CD Projekt RED confirmed.

On the game’s official Twitter profile, the developer confirmed that the multiplayer mode is officially in the works, and it will be made available once more single player content has been released.

Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer’s in the works! If you feel like lending us your skills apply: http://bit.ly/multiCP

The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.

Last week, CD Projekt RED released some new Cyberpunk 2077 footage featuring an intense story quest and how players can complete it differently depending on their build. The footage is a 15-minute edit of the demo that has been shown behind closed doors at the E3 a few months back.

Last week, the developer also revealed how they are going to improve the Cyberpunk 2077 visual quality.

This is one of the old developer tricks. In order to maximise the visual quality you are getting on screen, you are basically loading out all the things that are not on the screen. If you were to load everything then everything would be at a way lower quality.

Here, in Cyberpunk 2077, we have vertical streaming as well. Because when you look up you might stream out something below, whereas if you look down you might stream out something above you.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 2020.
