Sekiro Shadows Die Sold 3.8 Million Copies As Of June

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro Shadows Die is setting out to be one of the most successful new IP of the current generation, selling a high number of copies in just a few months.

Kadokawa, From Software’s parent company, confirmed that the game sold 3.8 million copies as of June 30th, which is an excellent result for a brand new IP.

High sales are definitely deserved, as Sekiro Shadows Die is an excellent game. While it is markedly different from the Souls series, the game is a challenging action title that no From Software fan should pass on.

You can tell From Software was happy to try something a little different with Sekiro. The game has a few mechanical issues, which can largely be chalked up to new series jitters, but its energy and excitement mostly make up for its flaws. Yes, Sekiro can be downright sadistic at times, but those with the bushido (or plain old stubbornness) to face its challenges will have a bloody good time.

In Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, players take on the role of the one-armed wolf, setting out on a journey of revenge.

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.

Explore late 1500s Sengoku Japan, a brutal period of constant life and death conflict, as you come face to face with larger than life foes in a dark and twisted world. Unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while you blend stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head to head combat in a bloody confrontation.

Sekiro Shadows Die is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in all regions.
