Galaxy Fold Launch Confirmed by Samsung, Putting End to All Rumors of Device’s Cancellation

Galaxy Fold launch confirmed by Samsung

Even after there were reports incoming that Samsung’s first foldable smartphone had passed all durability tests with flying colors after the company reportedly made the necessary changes, the Galaxy Fold launch still remained a mystery. Not anymore, as the Korean technology giant has come up with a press release stating when the foldable device will re-launch. Just so you know, the launch date isn’t going to clash with the official Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus announcement, which is expected to be held on August 7.

Samsung Provides Insight on the Changes It Made to the Galaxy Fold, Possibly to Give Customers More Confidence

Given below are details from Samsung’s press release concerning the Galaxy Fold launch. Thankfully, customers will not have to wait that long for the foldable handset to arrive. However, there are still a few key questions we have from Samsung’s camp.

“Samsung is conducting final product tests to make Galaxy Fold available to consumers starting from September in select markets. Availability details will be shared as we get closer to launch.”

Samsung has not provided details on the pricing of the Galaxy Fold, meaning that we’ll have to wait and see if the device will cost the same or if the Korean giant will provide some form of financial relief to customers who had to wait a considerably long period to get their hands on of these units. Either way, during the month of September, we’ll find out more what the Galaxy Fold has to offer, and perhaps the company will be eager to start taking pre-orders for the smartphone once more.

Just yesterday, there were reports that Samsung could launch the Galaxy Fold in select markets, suggesting that maybe the Korean giant wants to be a little cautious with the series of moves it takes, rather than taking a ‘leap of faith’. As it so happens, Samsung’s mobile head, Dj Koh, admitted that the Galaxy Fold launch was rushed before the device was completed, which could have been the reason why the problems occurred in the first place.

Even Huawei, Samsung’s biggest rival in the Android smartphone space, had to delay the launch of its own foldable smartphone, the Mate X, to perform some tests before it was comfortable to start shipping commercial units of the device. Now with the device supposedly inbound during the month of September, do you think customers will be able to put their trust in Samsung once more?

Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Would you trust Samsung’s word if it claims the problems with the Galaxy Fold have been addressed?
