Apple was earlier rumored to launch its second-generation AirPods at the end of 2018, with the product finally arriving this year. According to the latest info, AirPods 3 might also be arriving later this year and is expected to have one extra feature up its sleeve. The current AirPods deliver slightly better battery life and the H1 chip allows for better pairing, but its design has remained the same when compared to its predecessor. Hopefully, things will change with the arrival of AirPods 3.
Reports State That While Noise Cancellation Technology Isn’t a Breakthrough, It Is Challenging to Incorporate Something Like This on the AirPods 3
According to DigiTimes, citing industry sources, the AirPods 3 will launch by the end of 2019 and is expected to incorporate noise cancellation. This technology has been prevalent in many high-end wireless and wired headphones and provides a better listening experience. On AirPods 3, the report states that it will be difficult for designers, engineers and assembles to incorporate newer components.
Additionally, in case you didn’t know, noise cancellation technology consumes more battery life, and given that AirPods don’t exactly inspire confidence if you’re looking to experience prolonged listening time, the upcoming AirPods 3 might deliver reduced playback time. While we’ve stated the following change above, we’d very much like Apple to change up the design of the upcoming product and if that proves to be a challenge the technology giant cannot overcome, then perhaps a new color variant could be added to the mix so customers can match their new purchase with their existing iPhone.
According to DigiTimes, Taiwan’s Inventec is said to meet the production challenges of AirPods 3, thanks to its extensive assembly experiences, so it is highly likely that the firm has a better chance of obtaining orders from Apple instead of China’s Luxshare Precision. Both assemblers currently hold an equal share of orders for AirPods 2, which launched just last month.
There have been conflicting reports about the next-generation wireless earphones. In a previously published article, we stated that the new AirPods could offer things like noise cancellation, a complete redesign, and water resistance. However, the new product is not expected to launch until 2020. That being said, treat this report with a pinch of salt for now, and we’ll see what Apple’s plan are for its wireless accessories market.
What features do you believe should arrive with the AirPods? Tell us down in the comments.
