With its iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max not pulling in as many sales as Apple would have liked, the company has introduced two devices that initially stopped selling on the company’s official website. Firstly, the technology giant launched its iPhone SE on its Clearance Store starting at $249 for the base model, and it’s currently the only model in the entire lineup to feature a 3.5mm audio jack. Secondly, the iPhone X is now available as a Certified Refurbished unit starting at $769.
This is for the 64GB storage version, while the 256GB internal memory variant will set you back by $899. In case you wanted a specifications comparison, the iPhone XR sells for $749 on Apple’s website, and it features the same 3GB LPDDR4X RAM as the iPhone X. Looking at benchmarks, there isn’t a monumental difference between the A11 Bionic and A12 Bionic, and the iPhone X actually features a better OLED screen than the iPhone XR’s Liquid Retina LCD panel.
The advantage of purchasing a Certified Refurbished iPhone X from Apple’s website is that the customer will receive the same one-year warranty as they would when buying a new iPhone. Additionally, the customer will get all the manuals, literature and accessories that they would normally receive if they purchased a brand new unit. The Certified Refurbished unit will also feature a brand new battery and an outer shell, along with a new white box.
If you feel that you’re still not satisfied, you can return it, and you’ll receive a complete refund provided the iPhone X is delivered back in its original state, and the return of the smartphone has taken place within Apple’s 14-day return policy window. Additional AppleCare warranty can be purchased with these iPhone X units, with the device carrying a price just $20 more than the iPhone XR. In case you hadn’t noticed, you get access to a dual camera at the back too.
Apple is playing a smart game by introducing its previous-generation iPhone at a much lower asking price. While the iPhone XR is a sensible purchase, if you want to experience the best of what 2017 had to offer, you can pick up the Certified Refurbished iPhone X as your daily driver.
