The Most Affordable Samsung Galaxy S10 Variant Will Reportedly Be Known as the Galaxy S10 E

Galaxy S10 E

Most of you already know by now that Samsung plans to launch three Galaxy S10 models of different sizes, which will naturally be accompanied with varied specifications and features. The more affordable version of these devices was called the Galaxy S10 Lite earlier, but Samsung could be using a different name, the Galaxy S10 E, according to the latest report. The Galaxy S10 E will provide a more affordable solution to customers that want to experience a device from the flagship category, but it will also get the least number of features.

Galaxy S10 E Features a Single Front-Facing Camera and No in-Screen Fingerprint Reader, According to These Renders

Information was provided to MobileFun’s long-time suppliers in China, detailing that the upcoming Galaxy S10 E will not just feature a new name, but it will omit the in-screen fingerprint reader. This will bring down the cost as much as possible for the base model. Samsung might have no other choice but to place the security feature at the back, just like it did with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.

The Galaxy S10 E will also feature a smaller battery, with a previous leak revealing the smartphone will have a 3100mAh cell. The capacity is expected to deliver the same endurance as the Galaxy S9, but because the handset will feature more efficient components such as an SLP boards and the Exynos 9820, we can expect slightly better battery timing. There was also a rumor stating the Galaxy S10 lineup will sport UFS 3.0 storage, but that is yet to be confirmed.

The renders of all three models can be seen, showing that the Galaxy S10 E will feature a single front-facing camera, with Samsung adopting the in-hole display camera technology. Only the top-end Galaxy S10 Plus might feature a dual-camera at the front, which also means that this addition will command a higher price. The remaining two models will also get an in-display fingerprint reader, but it’s not confirmed if it’s an optical sensor or the more advanced ultrasonic model.

The Galaxy S10 E will supposedly be the answer to Apple’s iPhone XR but we cannot predict if Samsung’s cheapest model will sell well. Analysts earlier predicted the iPhone XR to be a home run in sales, only to pull back their estimates after witnessing a downfall of smartphone demand. However, with customers wanting something different in the design department, the Galaxy S10 E could perform marginally better.
