Smartphones in India seem to be getting a lot of discounts as of late. It was just a couple of days ago that Xiaomi announced the Mi A2 would receive a permanent discount with the country to help the phone stay competitive with others in the same segment. Then a day later Xiaomi wanted to celebrate a major milestone with the Redmi Note 5 series and announced discounts on the two Note 5 Pro variants that they sell in India. Now, in celebration of “ASUS Days,” the company is giving the ASUS ZenFone 5Z a major price cut of INR 8000 from January 9th through the 11th on Flipkart.
ASUS has started to focus on the Indian market a lot more lately and this type of sale is only going to help them achieve their goals. I will say that India is known to be a very price sensitive market and the ZenFone 5Z has a price tag that has pushed some people away. The company launched the ZenFone 5Z in India back in July of last year with a starting price tag of INR 29,999. Owners of the device have been happy with what ASUS produced here and they even began rolling out the Android Pie update in Taiwan last month.
INR 29,999 can be a difficult sell to a lot of people in India even if the phone comes with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. However, the ASUS Days discount may give people a reason to pull the trigger and buy the smartphone. This sale is available for the 6GB of RAM/128GB of internal storage model and the 8GB of RAM/256GB of internal storage option. These were priced even higher than INR 29,999 and normally would have cost you INR 32,999 and INR 36,999 respectively.
Thanks to the ASUS Days discount on Flipkart, until January 11th you can pick up the 6GB variant for INR 24,999 or the 8GB model for INR 28,999. Asus is also offering the ZenFone Max Pro M1, ZenFone Lite L1, and ZenFone Max M1 on sale. Refer to the following charts for details.
