More Evidence Suggests That Apple is Finally Getting Rid of Leather Cases and Watch Bands as Company Starts Clearing Stock

It has been rumored for some time that Apple will be getting rid of the leather phone cases and watch bands. Replacing the leather will be the company's new FineWoven cases and watch bands with magnetic buckles, and today, we have more evidence we are finally seeing the end of the leather accessories as the Cupertino giant has started clearing stock.

Apple getting rid of leather watch bands and phone cases shouldn't worry consumers, as third-party offerings will still exist

Based on information obtained by Mark Gurman, it appears that Apple is now offering up to 90% off Hermes leather accessories and link bands. This sounds like the company has started to clear out all the stock that it still has. Gurman does mention that the deal between Apple and Hermes is still in place, but you cannot really go ahead and buy the accessories since everything is out of stock.

This is just another piece of evidence that suggests that Apple is finally getting rid of the leather cases and watch bands in favor of the new FineWoven material that they will be using going forward. However, what we still don't know is how this new move is going to impact the deal they have with Hermes. We cannot say for sure at the time of writing, but it is safe to say that we will get more details in the future.

The new FineWoven cases and watch bands from Apple will use some sort of fabric; we have to wait and see what the company announces at the Wanderlust event that is scheduled for September 12th, just a week from today. We are expected to see the new iPhone 15, along with the new Apple Watch and hopefully new AirPods with USB Type-C charging port. There could be some surprise announcements, but so far, we have not heard of something different. But hey, we will keep you posted as we head closer to the event and will be providing you with all the coverage you need surrounding all the new releases from the company.

Honestly, I do love the leather cases regardless of the phone you own, and considering how we have so many third-party case manufacturers, you can expect the iPhone 15 to have some form of leather case. Since Apple has given up on leather cases, it is safe to say that you can see other companies offering something, and you can always go for those alternatives.
