iPad mini 7 launch with improved internals

Apple will host an event in the first half of next year where it will announce its next generation of iPhone 15 and Apple Watch models. The devices are slated to feature major upgrades compared to the current models. While the iPhone 15 series and the Apple Watch Ultra are sharing the hype, we are now hearing that the company is also working on an upgraded iPad mini 7 which could see daylight as soon as next month.

Apple could launch iPad mini 7 as soon as next month with a minor spec bump and potential camera upgrades

Leaker ShrimpApplePro shared a plethora of details on Apple's plans for this year in a series of tweets. The account mentions that the company is working on a pink color option for the Apple Watch Series 9 along with a Black titanium finish for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The leaker also claims that the company is working on "at least one new iPad" potentially the iPad mini 7 which will launch sometime later this year.

The leaker did not give a clear time frame for the launch of the iPad mini 7  but it seems the company could seize the opportunity next month. Take note that the company is planning o host two events later this year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The upcoming September event will be dedicated to the iPhone 15 lineup and the Apple Watch Series 9 while another event, possibly in October will be reserved for new M3 Macs.

As for what you should expect, Apple will launch the iPad mini 7 with little to no design changes. However, Apple will upgrade the internals of the iPad mini 7 with a new A-series chip. The company launched the iPad mini 6 back in 2021 with an A15 Bionic chip, the same chip that powered the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models. This year, the A17 Bionic chip will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models while the standard models will use an A16 Bionic chip. Henceforth, it is not clear which chip Apple will go for with the iPad mini 7.

Other than the internals, Apple could potentially upgrade the camera hardware as well. Some of the features that could make it to the iPad mini 7 include a Photonic Engine, which will be the first for the iPad, ProRes video, stereo recording, and much more. However, it is not final which features will be coming to the iPad mini 7. The leaker stated that he will share further information in the coming days.

The company can announce the new iPad mini 7 alongside the M3 Macs instead of next month but details on the subject are scarce at this stage. Nonetheless, we will keep you guys posted on the latest, so be sure to stick around,
