Intel Core i5-14600KF CPU Benchmarks Leak – Up To 17% Faster Than Core i5-13600KF

Intel Core i5-14600K Raptor Lake Refresh CPU Spotted: 14 Cores, 20 Threads & 5.3 GHz Boost 1

The latest benchmarks of Intel's Core i5-14600KF Raptor Lake Refresh CPU have leaked out which show a 17% performance uplift over the 13600KF.

Intel's Core i5-14600KF CPU Shows Up To A 17% Performance Improvement Over Core i5-13600KF In Leaked Benchmarks

Just yesterday, we saw the Intel Core i5-14600KF leaked out on a Gigabyte Z790 motherboard and now, the first benchmarks of the chip have been reported running on an ASUS Z790 motherboard. The latest tests were carried out on an ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard with DDR5-6000 memory (32 GB capacities) and the Raptor Lake Refresh CPU running at its stock clock speeds.

The specifications of the Intel Core i5-14600K CPU are straightforward. You will be getting a total of 6 P-Cores (12 threads) and 8 E-Cores (8 Threads) for a total of 14 cores and 20 threads. The cores are once again based on the same 10ESF process node and utilize the Raptor Cove & Gracemont core architecture. The chip provides 24 MB of L3 cache and 20 MB of L2 cache. The CPU runs at a base clock speed of 3.5 GHz and boosts up to 5.3 GHz (across a single core).

  • Core i5-14600K: 14 Cores (6+8) / 20 Threads / 5.3 GHz Boost / 24 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $319?
  • Core i5-13600K: 14 Cores (6+8) / 20 Threads / 5.1 GHz Boost / 24 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $319
  • Core i5-12600K: 10 Cores (6+4) / 16 Threads / 4.9 GHz Boost / 20 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $318

As you can see from the specs above, the Core i5-14600K and Core i5-13600K are mostly identical with the only difference being the higher clocks. The Core i5-14600K may seem like a nice boost for users upgrading from a 12th Gen Core i5 chip and they can also expect a similar price. In the latest benchmarks, the CPU was seen running just shy of its max 5.3 GHz clock speeds.

In terms of performance, the CPU scored 2794 points in single-core and 17,190 points in multi-core tests. For comparison, the Intel Core i5-13600KF scores 2644 points in single-core and 14,634 multi-core points. This marks a 6% improvement in single-core and up to 17.5% improvement in multi-core performance. Compared to the Alder Lake Core i5-12600KF, the 14600KF offers a 15% single-core and 45% multi-core improvement.

In fact, the CPU even outperforms the Core i9-12900KF & even the Core i9-12900KS in benchmarks which is quite a thing. The following are both single-core and multi-core benchmarks versus other chips:

Once again, it will all dial down to how Intel prices these chips. If they are available at the same rates the existing chips, then I guess there is some value for users upgrading from an older 12th Gen chip otherwise a discounted 13th Gen chip might be the best way to go. Expect more information on Intel's 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh Desktop CPU family at the upcoming Innovation 2023 event in September which will also be the launch platform for Intel's Meteor Lake "Core Ultra" CPUs.
