The rumored Red Dead Redemption Remaster is real and it's possible that a release is close at hand, a known insider has said.
Last week, Rockstar's 2010 hit title was rated again in South Korea. Although no further details were included with this rating, it has refueled the hopes of many that the Western-themed action-adventure is again receiving the remaster treatment. Of course, this doesn't mean that a remaster is indeed on its way and Rockstar hasn't announced of commented on the existence of a remaster in any way. Luckily for fans, however, known insider, sometimes leaker, and former IGN editor Colin Moriarty has now claimed to have seen confirmation that the remaster is the real deal. He also suggested that a release could be imminent with an announcement following next month.
Moriarty said as much in his most recent episode of his Sacred Symbols podcast (thanks GamingRoute). Unfortunately, this podcast is only for Patreons.
“I have seen confirmation that this is real…I had someone reach out to me behind the scenes that showed me something that definitively shows this game is coming", the insider said during his podcast. He added, " Maybe even imminently with an announcement, maybe in August.”
We can only hope that this 'information' is spot on and that Rockstar will officially announce the remaster soon. As always, we will update you as soon as more information about this matter comes in.
The original Red Dead Redemption is the sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver and the prequel to 2018's amazing, and highly-successful, Red Dead Redemption 2. The game was officially announced in 2009.
"The team at San Diego have massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games in 2009. "The seamless combination of breathtaking beauty and intense action, all woven together with strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment is mind-blowing. We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be."
Developed by Rockstar San Diego, as a follow up to the 2004 hit game, Red Dead Revolver, Red Dead Redemption is a Western epic, set at the turn of the 20th century when the lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age. The story of former outlaw, John Marston, Red Dead Redemption takes players on a great adventure across the American frontier.
