The PAYDAY 3 release date might have been leaked and could be released in roughly three months.
Earlier this year, publisher Prime Matter promised that the sequel to 2013's PAYDAY 2 would arrive somewhere in 2023. No exact release date or time frame, however, was provided. Luckily, we now have an actual release date, as 'leaked' by known Microsoft watcher 'Aggiornamenti Lumia'. According to the watcher's Twitter account, PAYDAY 3 will launch later this year on September 21.

No further details were given, and while this isn't a direct confirmation of the game's release date, 'Aggiornamenti Lumia' has been spot on in the past - the watcher was right on the money with the release of Diablo IV, and also was spot on with the release of the upcoming Lords of the Fallen. As such, we're pretty sure that an official announcement from the publisher will follow shortly.
Development on PAYDAY 3 kicked off in 2019, and the game is coming to both PC and consoles. "PAYDAY 3 is the explosive sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters of the past decade", the description of the game reads. "Join the PAYDAY gang as they return to a life of crime in New York City".
The game's development team and publisher have promised that a gameplay trailer will be released this summer. We'll update you as soon as we learn more about this highly-anticipated sequel.
Here's what we wrote about PAYDAY 2 in our Nintendo Switch review some years ago:
In case you didn’t know, Payday 2 is a game where you can undertake a variety of heists with friends and people online. You’ll be raiding banks, planes, shopping malls, stopping vans filled with precious cash, you name it. And levels are surprisingly comprehensive. A plane level begins with you unloading the precious cargo, following after it with parachutes, lighting flares for a chopper, loading three different cash pallets, and then escaping through the sewer on a boat, shooting cops as you make your escape.
