The rumored Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake is the real deal, and it will be coming to PlayStation as well as Xbox and PC.

That's what Windows Central's Jez Corden writes in a new report. Since last year, there have been several hints that Konami is working on a remake of 2004's Snake Eater, and most recently various insiders and leakers have claimed that Metal Gear Solid 3 is coming to PlayStation with Konami reportedly having struck some sort of exclusivity deal with Sony. Earlier this week, however, known leaker Tom Henderson said that, although the remake will be announced during Sony's PlayStation Showcase today, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake won't be a PlayStation exclusive and will come to Xbox and PC as well.

In addition to this, we now have Windows Central's Jez Corden saying the same after having heard from his own sources that the remake is real and is indeed coming to multiple platforms. "After confirming that I'd heard similar rumors (that may also include a Castlevania revival), I mentioned on my Xbox Two Podcast a couple of weeks ago that Metal Gear Solid 3 might be multiplatform, despite some previous assumptions that it would be PlayStation exclusive", Corden writes in his new report. "I wasn't 100% sure at the time, hence no report. Since then, Insider Gaming came out with a report stating that it would indeed be multiplatform, and I have since also hard-confirmed that the rumors I'd heard were true."

Of course, these are just unconfirmed rumors at this point, but if true, will be hearing more about this remake during the PlayStation State of Play later today. As always, we will keep you updated as soon as more information about Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake comes in.

Released in 2004 for PlayStation 2, many consider this MGS installment one of the best games ever created and possibly the best Metal Gear Solid entry in the history of the franchise.

"We are pleased that Konami continues to debut new Metal Gear Solid properties exclusively on PlayStation 2, as the success of this franchise helped propel gaming to new heights on our platform," said Andrew House, then executive vice president at Sony Computer Entertainment America upon the game's announcement in 2003. "Considering the enormous installed base of PlayStation 2 worldwide and its continued growth, we are confident that Konami's Metal Gear Solid(R)3 will be the biggest and best game in the series to date."
