Apple has seen fit to launch its latest Beats Studio Buds + today with major performance upgrades and a new design. Compared to the original Studio Buds, the latest model offers new color options and enhanced sound quality. Beats Studio Buds + announced with a fresh look, upgraded internals, and 50 percent better battery life
On first look, the Beats Studio Buds + looks identical to the previous version but offers some new color options. You will get a transparent version which will possibly be the most selling option. Apart from this, the earbuds are available in Black color with gold accents and an Ivory option with black accents. The transparent version reminds us of Nothing Ear 1 but the outer shell is not as clear as Nothing's offering. Even the ear tips are transparent which is a major plus for a seamless design.
As mentioned earlier the design is pretty much identical to the previous version but the internals are completely revamped. According to Beats, 95 percent of the internals in the Beats Studio Buds + are brand-new. The upgraded internals includes 3x larger microphones for capturing improved sound with a new mic port and a venting design, The wearable features the same IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating for everyday use.
The new Beats Studio Buds + feature a custom "Beats Proprietary Platform" chip that features support for touch pairing with Apple devices. Furthermore, it includes Hey Siri, Find My support, and device switching through iCloud. The wearable also features Google's Fast Pair, and Google Find My tracking as well as switching between a wide range of devices.
In terms of sound quality and other features, the new Beats Studio Buds + feature enhanced Active Noise Cancellation with voice pickup during phone calls all thanks to the larger microphone. The earbuds also come with support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos for enhanced sound quality. Overall the quality of the wearable has improved throughout. While the company did not change the design, the new finish and color options are a welcome addition.
Battery life has improved a lot on the Beats Studio Buds +, offering up to 9 hours with Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode turned off. The case also provides 27 hours of additional battery which stretches the total to 36 hours on a single charge. The battery life is 50 percent better than the previous version. The case also features a USB-C port that can charge from zero to a hundred in two hours.
