Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro beat the iPhone 14 Pro Max in a new download speed test. Ookla offers a comparison for its fastest download speed test and it can be seen that Samsung and Google rest ahead of Apple. Galaxy S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro outperforms the iPhone 14 Pro Max in the fastest download speed test comparison
The latest test was shared by Ookla which highlights how the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro beat the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The test takes download and upload speeds into account and ranks various flagship smartphones by number. From the rankings, we can see that Samsung's latest Galaxy S23 Ultra rests at the top as far as download speeds are concerned. The device features a 161.86 Mbps median download speed, resting 23 percent higher than Apple's iPhone 14 Pro Max which scored 130.99 Mbps.
Take note that Galaxy S23 Ultra is not the only Samsung phone on the list that outperforms the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The company's Galaxy Z Fold 4 scored a whopping 143.57 Mbps as well, resting at the second spot. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5 could potentially beat the S23 Ultra later this year. However, it is surprising to see the Galaxy Z Fold 4 beating the iPhone 14 Pro Max in the download speed test given it was announced a month earlier. However, the iPhone scored better in median upload speeds compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Lastly, the Google Pixel 7 Pro also outranked the iPhone 14 Pro Max in the download speed test by a small margin. This puts the iPhone in the fourth position below Google's Pixel 7 Pro. Overall, the Pixel 7 Pro also had the lowest latency at 50 ms. It is great to see how the Tensor G2 chip inside the Pixel is doing wonders for the device compared to the iPhone.
Comparing Apple and Samsung with the median download speed test, the latter scored higher at 91.57 Mbps compared to 76.92 Mbps. Samsung also beat Apple with lower latency. Apple will announce its latest iPhone 15 Pro model later this year in September which will house newer modems for faster download speeds. Potentially, the iPhone will beat the Galaxy S23 Ultra later this year.
