Did you miss out on the Diablo IV open beta or simply can’t wait until the game launches in June 6? Well, today during Blizzard’s latest developer livestream, they announced fans will get one more chance to jump in early as they’ll be holding a Diablo IV “Server Slam” weekend in May. The goal of this final beta is exactly what it sounds like – Blizzard wants to slam the servers as hard as possible in order to test their limits and prepare for the game’s full launch. So yes, there is a chance you’ll spend a fair amount of time waiting in the queue, but hopefully, Blizzard is prepared for their imminent slamming and it isn’t too bad.
The Diablo IV Server Slam weekend will operate similarly to the previous betas – you’ll be able to advance your character up to level 20 while playing in the game’s first zone, Fractured Peaks. That said, a number of tweaks based on feedback from the open beta will be implemented, including a lot of rebalancing for the classes, some changes to how dungeons work, and more. You can get the full rundown on the post-open-beta changes via the Diablo IV developer livestream.
The Diablo IV Server Slam weekend will give players another chance to earn the various awards offered during previous beta weekends, which include the following…
- Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
- Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
- Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
The Server Slam will also offer one more all-new reward, the Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy, which you can attach to your horsey. In order to earn this, you’ll need to beat the world boss Ashava with a level 20 character. In order to make this reward easier to earn, Ashava will be appearing more often during the Server Slam weekend. You can check out the Ashava Mount Trophy, below.
The Diablo IV Server Slam weekend runs from May 12 at 12pm PT to May 14 at 12pm PT on all platforms.
Diablo IV launches on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on June 6. You can check out Wccftech's impressions from the previous early access beta here. What do you think? Ready for one more early taste of Blizzard’s latest?
