Valve Announces a Large Update for Team Fortress 2; Asks Community for Workshop Submissions

Team Fortress 2

Today, in an unexpected set of news that probably should make a lot of enthusiastic Team Fortress 2 players jump off their seats, Valve announced that Team Fortress 2 will get a massive update and currently, players have been prompted to submit content to the Workshop. The deadline for submissions is currently set for May 1st.

You can read the tweet announcing this update below:

The link leads to a blog post on the Team Fortress 2 website that talks about the upcoming update. The update is cited to bring a large amount of content including items, maps, taunts, and other goodies. In other words, this could be just as big as the Jungle Inferno update that graced our PCs in 2017 (feeling old yet?).

The blog post calls for Team Fortress 2 content creators to make their submissions to the Steam Workshop. Here's the quote from the TF2blog:

The last few Team Fortress summer events have only been item updates. But this year, we're planning on shipping a full-on update-sized update — with items, maps, taunts, unusual effects, war paints, and who knows what else?! Which means we need Steam Workshop content! YOUR Steam Workshop content!

So get to work! (Or back to work, if you were already working but got distracted when the entire internet simultaneously found out about this state-of-the-art blog-post.) Make sure to get your submissions into the Steam Workshop by May 1st, so they can be considered for this as-yet-unnamed, un-themed, but still very exciting summer-situated (but not summer-themed) (unless you wanted to develop summer-themed stuff) update.

What could be the contents in the Team Fortress 2 update? Will Valve address the botting situation even further? Will this update be as massive as they are building it up to be? We'll find out as we head closer to May. In the meantime, Team Fortress 2 is available exclusively on PC through Steam.
