Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max could come with a brighter display, increasing peak brightness up to 2,500 nits
Apple's current iPhone 14 Pro Max features a brand-new display that houses the Dynamic Island. It can go up to 2,000 nits. According to a rumor shared by leaker ShrimpApplePro, this year's iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a Samsung display with brightness levels reaching up to 2,500 nits. The brighter display will enhance the user experience outdoors.
ShrimpApplePro also previously shared that the iPhone 15 Pro models will launch with a new design, enclosed in titanium casing, curved edges, and thinner bezels. However, the leaker has a mixed track record with hit-or-miss leaks and rumors. Henceforth, be sure to take the rumor with a grain of salt as the final word rests with Apple. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro launch is still months away and Apple could see it alter or scrap its plans for a brighter display altogether.
Prominent display analyst Ross Young has also not shared details on the iPhone 15 Pro Max adopting a brighter display (via 9to5Mac). It is worth noting that a higher screen brightness could result in shorter battery life. If Apple plans to implement it, the 2,500 nits brightness could be applied in outdoor situations. Indoors, the iPhone 15 Pro could offer lower peak brightness levels to save battery life.
As mentioned earlier, Apple is planning to launch the iPhone with the 'Ultra' branding next year, The company can also incorporate the new display with higher brightness on the iPhone 16 Ultra. We will share more details on the matter as soon as further information is available. Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
