Google announced its latest flagship smartphones last year with a boatload of new forward-facing features. While some features come with Android 12, others are exclusive for the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. If you happen to have one of these devices, Google gives you the ability to enable or disable camera and mic access for enhanced control. Scroll down and read how to enable or disable the camera or mic access on your new Google Pixel 6 series.
This is How You Can Easily Enable and Disable Mic and Camera Access For Third-Party Apps on Your Google Pixel 6 Phones
Before you know how to enable or disable the camera and mic access, you should also learn what the settings mean. To be precise, the camera and mic button control system-wide access to their function. For instance, if you have camera access enabled for Instagram, tapping the toggle will simply disable the functionality. You will only get a blank screen. The mic access works the same way. It is a pretty neat addition by Google that restricts camera and mic access for third-party apps.
Now that you know what the two buttons have to offer, scroll down to know how to enable and disable the camera and mic access on the new Google Pixel 6 series:
Step 1: Simply swipe down the Notification shade twice.
Step 2: You will see the Camera and Microphone Access buttons.
Step 3: Simply tap to disable or enable the camera or mic access.
Note: If you do not see the toggles, here's what you have to do.
Step 1: Swipe down twice and bring the Notification shade.
Step 2: Tap on the Pencil icon.
Step 3: Scroll down and look for the Mic access and Camera access buttons.
Step 4: Tap and hold, then drag the button up to the position where you want.
This is all that you have to do to enable and disable the camera and mic access on Pixel 6 phones. One thing to note here is that both buttons do not remove the app permissions to the mic and camera even if you have disabled them from the Quick Settings. To remove permissions, you will have to dig deep within the permission dashboard in settings. These toggles will only work on a temporary basis.
