Apple has stopped signing iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2. This means you can no longer downgrade from iOS 14.5 / iPadOS 14.5 or iOS 14.5.1 / iPadOS 14.5.1 to the older firmware. But the good news is, you can downgrade to iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 if you like, as the signing window is still open, for now.
Before you begin with the downgrade, please know that this will wipe your device clean. Your data will be lost unless you take a backup using iTunes, Finder or iCloud. Once that is done, read more below.
Download the iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 firmware file for your iPhone or iPad and save it to your desktop for easy access later:

Follow the rest of the steps below for downgrade:
Step 1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC or Mac using a Lightning or USB-C cable
Step 2. Launch Finder or iTunes
Step 3. Once your device is detected, it will appear as a tiny iPhone-like icon on the left, click on it when it appears
Step 4. Now hold down the left Shift key (Windows) or the left Option key (Mac) and then click on Restore iPhone
Step 5. Select the firmware file you saved on your desktop
Step 6. Finder or iTunes will now extract the contents of the firmware and then restore it to your iPhone and iPad. This may take a while so come back after ten minutes
Step 7. Once you are at the Hello screen, you can set up your iPhone or iPad as new or just restore an older backup
