OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Is Headed to the U.S., but With a Much Steeper Price Tag Attached

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is finally coming to the U.S.

The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be the first flagship from the company to get support for the next-generation of cellular connectivity. However, where the non-5G variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro sports a $669 price tag for the base model, this version will force you to spend a little more. Thankfully, it’s still cheaper than what the competition offers, so if you wanted a little bit of silver lining in terms of pricing, here it is.

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Is Headed to Sprint for a Sub-$1000 Price Tag but a Special Promo Offer Makes the Flagship a Lot More Affordable

Information received by CNET states that OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is headed to Sprint on Tuesday, where it will be available from Wednesday through the carrier’s online store. A nationwide release is set for September 6, in case you want to check out the device in person and see how it performs when connected to a 5G network. The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be offered in the same Nebula Blue finish as the regular Snapdragon 855-fueled flagship, and there’s going to be no difference in the hardware specifications.

The only difference is that the upcoming handset will offer 5G connectivity support, and there’s all there to it. As for the price, where the regular OnePlus 7 Pro costs $669, the 5G-ready version will set you back by a whopping $840. The strange thing to hear is that it is the most affordable 5G-ready smartphone offered by Sprint. Devices like the LG V50 ThinQ 5G sell for $1000, while the Galaxy S10 5G will set you back by $1300.

If the pricing is too much, Sprint is offering a promotional deal for a limited time, where the device is available for $20 a month, for 18 months in total when purchased on Sprint’s Flex leasing plan. This will bring the grand total to only $360, much cheaper than the $840 price tag we wrote about earlier.

Of course, you don’t have to shell out this much for a 5G-ready flagship in 2019, because phones in 2020 that will feature a 5G modem are expected to be much more affordable. Still, we’d like to know your thoughts if getting the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is worth the investment this year.
