Mate 30 Pro Camera Configuration Allegedly Leak, With Massive Rear Hump Housing Four Units

Mate 30 Pro camera hands-on leak shows a rear hump with four sensors

The Mate 30 Pro camera will certainly be the most focused feature of the flagship when Huawei aims to launch it next month. We’re certain that the design aspect of the smartphone will take inspiration from the Mate 20 Pro, which several critics labeled as one of the best Android flagships that wasn’t officially available in the U.S. With an alleged hands-on of the Mate 30 Pro leaked, it shows the device from all angles, while also giving readers a glimpse of that impressive rear camera array.

Massive Rear Camera Hump of Alleged Hands-on Images Show Total of Four Camera Units, on One Side

A series of images posted on Slashleaks reveals what the Mate 30 Pro camera configuration will appear as. Firstly, it’s not confirmed if the unit in this hands-on leak is a prototype or the real deal, so we’ll have to wait for Huawei’s announcement and see if the Mate 30 Pro is offered in this particular color. At the front, we can see two cameras, which we believe are housed in a wider notch. Since the Mate 20 Pro offered 3D facial recognition nearly equivalent to that of Apple’s Face ID, we expect the secondary sensor at the front will offer the same secondary layer of security.

The real magic will happen at the back, where there’s a large non-circular camera hump located, showing what appear to be four sensors. This implies that Huawei might provide a versatile smartphone photography package to users, as the array should offer an RGB, super-ultra-wide, telephoto, and ToF camera sensor solution. However, the finer details are currently in the dark, such as the maximum optical zoom capability or the maximum hybrid zoom limit. Naturally, the Mate 30 Pro camera is expected to one-up P30 Pro’s optics hardware, but the extent of that difference we’ll find out in the future.

Other specifications include a Kirin 990 SoC, meaning that the Mate 30 Pro will be the first device from Huawei to get 4K 60FPS video recording support. The latter is nothing to be excited about though, as most phones armed with a Snapdragon 855 provide 4K 60FPS video recording support. Other specifications can include 55W fast-charging, with Qi wireless charging peaking at 25W. Those are impressive numbers, which only means that the Mate 30 Pro will be able to reverse wirelessly charge other accessories much faster than the Mate 20 Pro ever could.

A tipster also stated earlier that the Mate 30 Pro camera will outshine what Samsung incorporated in its Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy Note 10 Plus hardware, but we’re keen on seeing ourselves what exactly Huawei has up its sleeve to make this a memorable 2019 Android flagship. Sadly, this is all the information we can give you, but stay tuned for more, as the year has yet to finish.
