Microsoft Activates New Windows 10 19H2 Features for a Few Insiders

microsoft windows 10 cumulative updates install Windows 10 1903 may 2019 update

Microsoft released a new preview build from the upcoming Windows 10 19H2 earlier this week. The Windows development team had announced that it will be testing a new way to get feedback on build quality by shipping features that are turned off by default.

Now, the Windows development team is turning the features of build 18362.10005 ON for a subset of Windows Insiders in the Slow ring with the release of build 18362.10006 of Windows 10 October 2019 Update.

Today [7/17] we have released 19H2 Build 18362.10006 for a subset of Windows Insiders that turns on the features delivered as part of Build 18362.10005 (noted in the below blog post) earlier this week. Please note that Build 18362.10006 is only going out to a subset of Insiders in the Slow ring. That means not everyone in the Slow ring will get this update.

As noted previously, the upcoming Windows 10 version will be released as a cumulative update so the builds being delivered to Insiders are also appearing as cumulative updates. If you are one of the first few lucky Insiders, you will see and get to test new features of the upcoming Windows 10 version 1909 through this build. Note that not every Slow ring Insider will see this newly released build.

One of the features coming with Windows 19H2 also includes the ability to activate third-party digital assistants like Amazon’s Alexa to voice activate above the Windows 10 Lock screen. Complete details on what’s new with Windows 10 19H2 Preview Build 18362.10005 and 18362.10006 can be seen in our earlier coverage.
