After a leak that promised new software-based camera features for the 2019 iPhone 11 lineup, we’ve got new trademarks that might highlight Samsung’s plans for the upcoming Galaxy Note 10. Both the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus will feature three camera lenses, and the latter will add an additional Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera sensor on its back too. Galaxy Note 10 Will Improve ISO Sensitivity And Use AI To Adjust Light Sensitivity Automatically
Today’s patent scoops for Samsung provide important details for the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 lineup. We’ve got two of these, and both related to the ISO. They’re dubbed as ‘Smart-ISO’ and ‘AI-ISO’ and should allow the phablets to automatically adjust image sensitivity based on ambient light.
Additionally, the Note 10 might also store a user’s ISO preferences for the future. Since the patent documents are unavailable to us, we can’t fully ascertain the nature of the upcoming phablets’ new camera features. However, this doesn’t mean we haven’t got other details for you. Today’s report also corroborates earlier details that the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus will be able to support three variable aperture settings as opposed to the two found on Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.
The Galaxy Note 10 lineup will compete in a smartphone world where Google’s Pixel 4 and Apple’s iPhone 11 lineup are present. Both of these will have their unique camera features, but neither will have a ToF sensor at the back. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL should be worth waiting for especially as the devices will carry a dual rear camera setup for the first time in the smartphone lineup’s history. How Google uses the data from these sensors will set the pace for this year’s high-end smartphone camera performance.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 phablets will also introduce a brand new display that’s rumored to feature a single circular cutout in its center at the top to accommodate the front camera sensor. Details for this sensor are scarce, and the Korean tech giant will likely follow the S10’s path in this area. Additionally, it’s uncertain whether the larger Note 10 Plus will feature a dual front camera setup or not.
