AMD is working on new Ryzen 3000 processors which would include 65W TDP parts and the PRO series for corporate sectors. The new processors were spotted in a listing by the EEC or Eurasian Economic Commission (via Komachi_Ensaka).
AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6 Core, Ryzen 7 3700 8 Core, and Ryzen 9 3900 12 Core, 65W TDP CPUs In The Works Along With Pro Series
It looks like AMD might soon be introducing even more interesting options in their already stellar Ryzen 3000 series family. Based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture, Ryzen 3000 with its massive IPC delivers best-in-class multi-threading performance and single-core performance that’s equivalent to Intel’s latest processors.
The processors that have been listed on EEC include the Ryzen 5 3500, Ryzen 7 3700, Ryzen 9 3900, Ryzen 7 Pro 3700 and the Ryzen 9 Pro 3900. When it comes to specs, we don’t have the exact info however, it looks like all of these parts would feature a TDP of 65W. The AMD Ryzen 5 3600 would feature 6 cores and most probably 12 threads. Since the Ryzen 5 3600 already retails for $199 US and the Ryzen 5 3400G retails for $149 US, this chip could end up around $159-$179 US.
The AMD Ryzen 7 3700 and Ryzen 7 Pro 3700 will be both 8 core and 16 thread parts. It will be interesting to see the clock speeds on these parts as the Ryzen 7 3700X already features a 65W TDP and has phenomenal clock speeds with best-in-class value. The AMD Ryzen 9 3900 and Ryzen 9 Pro 3900 would be 12 core and 24 thread parts. It’s interesting to see AMD bringing high-core count processors in the 65W TDP design.

We can expect a major reduction in clock speeds on the 65W parts compared to their 105W TDP siblings. Prices may also be tuned for the 65W TDP parts. Intel’s Core i9-9900 would be directly competing with the higher core count parts as it’s also a 65W SKU with 8 cores and 16 threads, retailing for over $400 US. AMD hasn’t confirmed the release of these chips but we can expect them to be released in the second half of 2019. Most of these parts could be OEM only and we might never get to see them be sold on retail shelves.
