Microsoft has updated the support notes of the latest Windows 10 May 2019 Update aka version 1903. In the latest update, the Windows maker has noted that version 1903 is now available for anyone who seeks it through the Check for updates button.
Current status as of June 6, 2019:
Windows 10, version 1903 is available for any user who manually selects “Check for updates” via Windows Update. The recommended servicing status is Semi-Annual Channel.
May 2019 Update was released last month after months of internal and Insider testing. First made available to the public on May 22, Microsoft had said that the company will take a slower approach, offering the update only to the computers that are deemed to be fully compatible with the latest version. While there was always the manual installation route, you can now just head over to Settings > Update & SecurityWindows > Update and click on Check for updates to install the latest feature update.
There are still a few “upgrade holds” in place, but since Windows 10 May 2019 Update has managed to steer clear of any major issues, you should be able to install it through Windows Update. Some of the issues that still need fixing include:
- Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002”
- Loss of functionality in Dynabook Smartphone Link app
- Display brightness may not respond to adjustments (compatibility hold on devices with certain Intel drivers)
- Audio not working with Dolby Atmos headphones and home theater (protective hold)
You can download version 1903 ISOs and install it manually, as well.
