Google Pixel 4 Prototype Spotted Out in the Open

Google tweets Pixel 4 image

Google’s Pixel series of phones seem to be more susceptible to leaks compared to others. Last year’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were leaked well before launch. Some people even managed to get their hands on a unit via shady Russian Telegram merchants. To make matters worse, the entire spec sheet was leaked merely a few days before the official launch event.

The yet-to-be-released Pixel 4 seems to be going down the same path too. Earlier this week, a sketchy render of what resembled Google’s upcoming flagship appeared online. Following the ‘leak’, Google doubled down on it by posting another image of the device, effectively confirming the validity of the previous reveal. Today, a 9to5google reader spotted what appeared to be a Pixel 4 in London.

Is this our first look at the Pixel 4?

So, here we have it; out first sneak peek at the Google Pixel 4. It is very likely the XL variant of the flagship, as its aesthetics are on par with what we saw earlier. It is interesting that a lot of flagship devices spotted outdoors. The Pixel 3 XL was found in a Lyft and the Galaxy S10+ seen on a bus, and even the Galaxy Note 9 was spotted on a train.

The anonymous tipster even verified that the front of the device had two cameras like the Pixel 3 XL and a ‘large forehead’, cementing the speculation that this is indeed a Pixel 4. Judging by how things work these days, we can expect a few more ‘leaks’ to find their way online before the actual launch. The Pixel 4 is expected to hit the shelves in October this year. We sincerely hope that this years launch event packs a bit more oomph as last years Pixel 3 unveil could be best described as ‘low energy’.
