Apple Might Be on Track to Release 7 MacBook Models Later This Year, According to the EEC Database

Apple MacBook 7 models registration EEC 2019

Apple might have refreshed its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models just recently, but it doesn’t mean the company is done for the year. According to a recent EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) database, the technology giant could be on track to launch a total of seven different MacBook models. That doesn’t necessarily mean Apple will be releasing a pack of seven different notebook variants, it just means that the notebooks already present in the company’s product lineup will be succeeded with newer models with different hardware specifications.

Apple’s 12-Inch MacBook Is Overdue for a Refresh, Followed by the MacBook Air

According to the EEC, Apple has registered the following models on the database:

  • A2141
  • A2147
  • A2158
  • A2159
  • A2179
  • A2182
  • A2251

The models are registered under ‘portable’ computers, suggesting that Apple will launch new MacBook models in the coming months. The 12-inch MacBook is long overdue for a refresh, seeing as how the last time Apple introduced a successor was back in 2017. Since then, there have been numerous discounts applied to the notebook with varying hardware on third-party online retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and others. The machine is intended for users that travel significantly and want to get ‘non-taxing’ work done.

The MacBook Air, on the other hand, is slightly more powerful and versatile thanks to its Thunderbolt 3 ports, and the refresh was launched back in October 2018. Though Apple has been reported to be working on a redesigned MacBook Pro, we doubt it will be a part of this year’s lineup. Firstly, the company has already announced refreshed models of its most powerful notebook family, with the 15-inch variant now obtaining the ability to be configured with a beastly 8-core processor for unparalleled performance from a portable machine.

The redesigned MacBook Pro is expected to feature a screen size in between 16-16.5 inches, but according to Ming-Chi Kuo, it has been delayed to 2021. We also don’t believe that Apple will launch an ARM-powered MacBook this year, as previous reports have continued to maintain that the earliest release timeline is somewhere in 2020. It will be interesting to see what Apple has in store for its notebook customers later this year and we’ll be here to update you on all the information that comes forth in the coming months, so stay tuned.
