Thermaltake Announces Level 20 RGB Gaming Desk At An Exorbitantly High Price Point of $1,199

Recently, Thermaltake has been adding products to their furniture line with the release of the Level 20 RGB Battlestation Gaming Desk. Thermaltake have been creating their own RGB ecosystem with many other products they have, and I have to say this one is much larger than any other brand such as Corsair or Razer. Somebody was going to make an RGB desk. The final image down below in the gallery is what Thermaltake’s RGB ecosystem currently includes.

Adjustable Height And RGB – Can Be Controlled With Alexa

The two main features of the desk the adjustable height with onboard memory that saves 4 specific positions. The height adjustment features span 40 cm of adjustment room from 70 cm to 110 cm. The other one that is glaringly obvious is the RGB strip built into the desk. The RGB strip is can be controlled through the TT Plus RGB software and Razer Chroma. The desk also works with Alexa along with any other Thermaltake RGB in your build.

The surface of the desk is advertised to be an extra large mousepad that is a full cloth, semi-coarse weave material. The desk is made up of high-quality aluminum with a density of 3 cm. The desk can also support up to 330 pounds which is roughly 150 kilograms. The dimensions of the desktop are 165 cm by 75 cm which should be enough space for anything you want to put on your desk.  

How Can You Justify A Price Point That High?

Now, I get to the elephant in the room. The desk costs as much as an RTX 2080 Ti. The desk costs $1,199, but what I do not understand is how does Thermaltake justify that pricing. A desk that moves up and down costs around $500 to $600, so I do not think to add an RGB light strip will increase the price by $600. To put it simply, you could buy a desk that moves up and down, add an RGB strip around, and put a Glorius PC Gaming Race full-length mouse pad on top for around $700. I am extremely confused about how Thermaltake reached the conclusion that any person in their right mind would spend the same amount of money that an RTX 2080 Ti costs for a desk.

The price of the desk is $1200, but pricing nor availability has been announced. In the future, I think people would consider buying this if they reduced the price by a lot.
