Security Researcher Demoes Jailbreak For iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 With Cydia On iPhone XS Max

There’s interesting news if you’re a jailbreak fan and likes to tinker with Apple’s mobile operating system. Security researcher Liang Chen from keenLabs has demoed a working jailbreak for iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 at Infiltrate 2019. Do take note that the jailbreak for iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 demoed was a complete jailbreak that constituted PAC and APRR bypass. In addition to this, Liang also showcased Cydia running on the iPhone XS Max as evidence that the jailbreak is indeed working. So let’s dive in to see some more details on the new jailbreak for iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 and whether it will be released for the general public.

Jailbreak For iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 Demonstrated By KeenLabs’ Security Researcher

Unlike Electra and Unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 12, KeenLabs will most likely not release the exploit for the general public. Instead, the company will probably sell it to third-party or Apple itself and collect the reward as it has done in the past. KeenLabs have demonstrated various exploits in the past which could have been used for potential jailbreaks.

As we have mentioned earlier, the latest jailbreak for iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2 demonstrated at Infiltrate 2019 showcases Cydia running on the iPhone XS Max. However, since it is not available for the general public at the moment or won’t be available any time soon, you can currently jailbreak iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 using the Uncover or Chimera jailbreak. Chimera jailbreak comes with support for iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR.

Unfortunately, for those of you who have updated their iOS device to iOS 12.1.3, can no longer jailbreak their devices using the aforementioned jailbreaks. This due to the fact that Apple has stopped signing iOS 12.1.2 or lower versions. Henceforth, downgrade to the previous build is no longer possible. Nonetheless, we will keep you guys posted for more details on the matter.
