PlayStation 5

Among the remarkable features that the PlayStation 5 console will sport is the storage drive, which will allow for faster load times than regular storage like HDD. We have heard reports on how quickly the new console loads games, but now we can finally see these blazingly fast load times thanks to a new video.

Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki recently shared a recording of a video shown by Sony during an official presentation, which shows how Marvel Spider-Man loads in 0.8 seconds on the next-generation console as opposed to the 8.10 seconds required by the PlayStation 4 Pro console.

While the PlayStation 5 specs have yet to be revealed, it’s been confirmed that the console’s CPU will be based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen Line. The PlayStation 5 GPU is also going to support ray tracing.

The CPU is based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line and contains eight cores of the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture. The GPU, a custom variant of Radeon’s Navi family, will support ray tracing, a technique that models the travel of light to simulate complex interactions in 3D environments.

The PlayStation 5 console has yet to be officially unveiled. We will keep you updated on it as soon as more come in on the matter, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
