Right after the OnePlus 7 Pro, the much-awaited OnePlus 7 is finally here. We already knew pretty much most of what there was to know about the device courtesy a slew of leaks. Unlike its Pro variant, the OnePlus 7 has an unsightly notch at the front. But, that’s all that differentiates OnePlus’ latest offerings.
Display
The OnePlus 7 may not rock a 90Hz ‘fluid’ AMOLED panel like its elder sibling, but it comes with a decent a 6.4″ AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2340×1080 with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 (402ppi pixel density) and five pre-configured display calibration. The device is sandwiched by two layers of Corning Gorilla Glass. However, unlike several other glass-backed flagships out there, the OnePlus 7 still does not support wireless charging.
Camera
The OnePlus 7 opts for a dual-camera setup and sports the same 48MP 1/2-inch Sony IMX586 sensor as its Pro variant. The secondary telephoto camera is an 8MP sensor that allows 3x optical zoom, with an F/2.4 aperture. All the software features are pretty much the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Hardware
The OnePlus 7 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 coupled with either 6 or 8GB of RAM. The base variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the maxed out version bumps it up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone will run Android Pie 9.0 with OxygenOS 9.5 on top. The battery on the OnePlus 7 is a 3,700mAh Li-ion battery that supports OnePlus’ proprietary 25W fast charging. It uses the same tried and tested under the screen fingerprint scanner that debuted with the OnePlus 6T.
