MSI Preparing GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z Card 10th Anniversary Edition Graphics Card

10 years, that’s how long the Lightning Z line has been out. The ultimate overclockers card from MSI. They always released one for the flagship card. This year it was the MSI RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z. We got our hands on it and we were lucky to review and that card was a monster. One prediction I have is that they could release a second version, but it will be a Lightning Z Sea Hawk. Sea Hawk EK is MSI partnership with EK for a built on water block.

Special Edition Lightning Z At Computex – Story Of The Lightning Z Line

From what I have heard, the next card in the series is the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z 10th Anniversary Special Edition. The card will have a different look to it than the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z and will ship with an OLED display that puts out real-time monitoring data of the card’s temperatures, clock-speeds, fan-speeds, voltages, memory utilization, or pretty much whatever you want it that can be toyed around within MSI’s utility tool.

The card’s cooler will also feature a more richly detailed RGB LED embellishment all around as the RGB LED’s did not look the best on the previous version. They also said that the design of the card would be designed more like a jewel  MSI may also touch up the card’s electricals, BIOS, and overclocking-headroom to rival one the best, the EVGA RTX 2080 Ti KINGPIN. Like most companies, MSI will show the public this card at their booth at Computex 2019. This will be another showpiece as MSI’s booth as they already have a lot of stuff to display.

If we go back and think about it, there have been 14 different Lightning Z cards to date. Above are 4 different cards including the most recent one. None of the cards have disappointed any person who was blessed enough to get one in their hands.

All of this started in 2007 with the development of the Twin Frozr project which was to find the best cooling solution. This has brought so much success being one of the best technologies for cooling still to this day. In 2009, MSI needed a new line to signify their commitment to the best possible performance. They wanted to supply the extreme overclockers a card to climb the leaderboards. A no-compromise card for the best of the best.

That is the story of the Lightning Z line and how it came to be the ultimate card on the market. I am excited to see their newest addition at Computex. I have high hopes and I also hold MSI to a high standard to deliver this card.
