MSI, one of the largest parts manufacturer, has chosen to start making cases. Their newest product to be unveiled Computex has surfaced and it is the MPG Sekira 500 series. The case has a very nice design and also offers many features. This may be the starting point of the MSI’s ever-expanding case lineup.
Naming Based Off Of Slavic Mythology – Legendary Axe Of Perun
MSI MPG SEKIRA 500 series gaming chassis was inspired by the legendary axe in the hands of Perun, the God of Thunder in Slavic mythology which one of the most unique naming schemes I have seen to date. This is symbolized in the sharp and neat design with a slant across the front representing the axe of Perun. This story adds another level to the case and I think it is very intuitive and brings some sort of lore to the case. I don’t think I have ever mentioned lore in a post about cases.
The case offers tempered glass side panels on both sides that also features tool-less removal which is always a plus when building a case. They also have an extractable radiator bracket which makes positioning a radiator much easier. This case also includes a 1 to 8 ARGB hub for all the fans in the system and can support up to a 360mm radiator. This case offers vertical GPU mounting which a plus when water cooling a system. This case is clearly oriented towards water cooling.
It is always interesting seeing a part maker step into the case business as competition never hurts and innovation always come. Since MPG is not the top end line, I am excited to see what they do in the future for the Creation and MEG line as this MPG line already looks very nice. More details will come out during Computex 2019. I am expecting the price to be slightly higher due to all the features it offers, but never the less, it is always interesting to see new cases come to the market.
