Good News, Bad News for U.S. Customers; OnePlus 6T Gets Permanent Price Cut, but They Can’t Buy the OnePlus 7

OnePlus 6T price cut OnePlus 7 not available US customers

OnePlus launched a trio of phones today and thanks to a host of upgrades, the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G are hogging all the limelight. However, given that the OnePlus 7 Pro starts at $669, some consumers might be willing to settle for the standard OnePlus 7 instead. Unfortunately for those in the U.S., this will not be an option as the OnePlus 7 will not make it stateside. However, perhaps to make up for this, the company has reduced the price of the OnePlus 6T in the country, but not by much.

In essence, the OnePlus 7 is a lot like the OnePlus 6T. It has the same 6.41-inch display and dual camera system, although one of them is a 48MP sensor. A lot of changes are done on the inside as well. For example, the OnePlus 7 is armed with a faster Snapdragon 855 coupled with the new and highly improved UFS 3.0 storage. The phone starts at €559 in Europe, which is around $626. It is still cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro, but the latest price drop of the OnePlus 6T is a good option for a lot of customers, despite the fact that it was last year’s flagship, but we hope that OnePlus could have done better than a meager discount.

After $30 is shaved off the price of the phone, the version with 128GB of internal memory will cost $549, while the model with 256GB of native storage will fetch $599. The price cut will go live on the company’s website from May 17 and the phone will be available in the colors Mirror Black and Midnight Black.

While the OnePlus 6T may pale in comparison to the OnePlus’ recently released phones, it’s a remarkable device in its own right, running Android 9 Pie and boasting up to 8GB of RAM. The phone will also get at least two more versions of Android’s future software updates. Customers in most European countries, Hong Kong, India, and China will be able to get their hands on the OnePlus 7 starting next month. As for the OnePlus 7 Pro, the flagship with the motorized camera will go on sale from May 21.

Should the OnePlus 7 have been sold in the U.S. to provide customers with more choices just in case they thought the ‘Pro’ model was too pricey? Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
