Cyberpunk 2077 Official Modding Support Is Still Undecided

Cyberpunk 2077

Older entries in The Witcher series received ample official modding support, and The Witcher 3 also received some, despite it not being as extensive as for the previous games in the series. Some are expecting to see some sort of official modding support for Cyberpunk 2077 as well, but it seems like things are yet undecided.

CD Projekt Red Community Manager Marcin Momot recently talked about modding support for Cyberpunk 2077 on the game’s official forums, revealing that, while it is still undecided, the developer would love to support the modding community in the future.

I wanted to elaborate on this topic and on that answer in particular. We have no plans to share at the moment. Obviously, we would love to support the modding community in the future, but for the time being, we want to focus on releasing the game first. Hopefully, this clears things up a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be shown at this year’s E3, but not to the public. The game will be shown behind closed doors to the press with a 1-hour long presentation that we will also attend. You can read out thoughts on last year’s showing by going here.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 worthy of the hype? Absolutely. Writing quibbles aside, the game is set to break new ground in terms of tech, artistry, and action. Everybody is, rightfully, going to lap the game up when the next generation of gaming rolls around in a couple years. That said, will Cyberpunk 2077 stand up a classic years after release or will it be one of those innovative titles that fades from the collective memory when even more impressive games hit the scene? That remains to be seen.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
