It hasn’t exactly been a well-kept secret, with rumors swirling for months, but Activision and developer Infinity Ward have finally confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be this year’s entry in the blockbuster CoD series. This is the fourth Modern Warfare game, but Activision has dropped any numbers from the title, as it seems this may be a soft-reboot of the series. You can check out the debut trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, below.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be a more back to basics experience, after Black Ops 4 deviated from the usual formula by removing the single-player campaign and adding a battle royale mode. Several high-profile Infinity Ward devs who moved to Respawn Entertainment to work on Titanfall have recently returned home, so hopefully the new Modern Warfare will be better than the studios last couple efforts.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare charges onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 25.
