Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Coming to Android and iOS

We’ve been seeing a lot of popular RPGs make their way to mobile platforms in the past couple of weeks. The Elder Scrolls: Blade’s release was followed by Black Desert Mobile. Both titles were hugely successful on other platforms and today, another one joins their ranks. Falcom has announced in a press release that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is coming to Android and iOS as a part of a worldwide release. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is a fairly popular better action RPGs. Both old and new fans alike are likely to welcome RPG on the Play Store/App Store whenever it arrives. Here’s an overview posted by the developer:

Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and the other shipwrecked passengers he rescues form a village to challenge fearsome beasts and mysterious ruins on the isolated island. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in an unknown world. Join Adol as he unravels the riddle of the cursed isle and the blue-haired maiden Dana in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

Key Features

  • An Epic Tale: Follow Adol and his companions on his latest adventure to uncover the mysteries of the cursed island.
  • Another Side: Unravel the mystery of the blue-haired maiden Dana through her own unique gameplay segments.
  • It Takes a Village: Rescue your fellow shipwrecked passengers and bring them to your village where they will provide valuable services.
  • Party On: Switch characters on the fly as you battle ferocious foes in lightning-fast combat.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was originally released for the PlayStation Vita in 2016 and subsequently ported to the PS4 in May of 2017. The title later made its way to PC and the Nintendo Switch in 2018. The main concern here is how an action RPG tailor-made for PC and consoles will translate to a touchscreen-based platform. There is no doubt that the game will be stripped of a lot of features. We can even see some combat mechanics getting nerfed to better suit mobile users. The burning question is, however, will there be microtransactions? The answer will probably be yes, but what can one really do at this point?
