World War Z Sold 1M+ Units in Its First Week; Game Performing Way Above Expectations on PC Thanks to Epic Games Store

In a fresh press release sent out minutes ago, World War Z developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive proudly revealed that the game sold over one million units in its first week across all the platforms (PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One).

Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch said in a statement:

Saber is extremely thrilled by the performance of the game on all platforms. On the PC specifically, we are performing way above expectations thanks to the support we have received from the Epic Games Store. Moving forward, we’ll continue to work on growing the game and its community with new improvements, stability updates and bonus gameplay content, beginning very soon with a special new mission for the Tokyo episode.

In our recent review, Nate praised the game even after noting some of its faults.

World War Z is a surprisingly fresh take on the well-trodden Left 4 Dead formula. While a bit rough around the edges and nowhere near as groundbreaking as Valve’s series, World War Z is a confident co-op shooter that turns the intensity to 11 without being overwhelming or obnoxious. If you think you’ve got the stamina, this war is worth enlisting for.

World War Z is out now, priced $39.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One or $34.99 via the Epic Games Store.
