Windows 10 May 2019 Update is now available to Slow ring Insiders and anyone who is interested to check out the latest version. With version 1903 almost out in the public, the October 2018 Update continues its slow adoption rate.
Latest stats from AdDuplex suggest that Windows 10 version 1809 added 3 percent to its share now running on 29.3% of 100,000 surveyed machines.” While Windows 10 May 2019 Update is starting to trickle out via various channels, it is not officially available to consumers yet,” AdDuplex report says. “In the meantime, Windows 10 October 2018 Update added almost 3% to its share and, out of more than 100,000 PCs surveyed, 29.3% run the latest official Windows 10 release.”
While the May 2019 Update is already available to Slow and Release Preview ring Insiders and the Windows maker has also offered anyone who is interested to sign up with the Slow ring and install version 1903, it continues to push version 1809 to more devices.
With the upcoming Windows 10 May 2019 Update, Microsoft hopes to get over the disasters caused by version 1809 that eventually resulted in its slow adoption rate. With new update policies being introduced with version 1903, it is likely that the upcoming version will be adopted at a much better pace. AdDuplex report noted that “it’s only natural, that Windows 10 O18U has grown only modestly in anticipation of the next release.” As for M19U, the report said that “newer versions are found on less than 1% of PCs despite a substantial (more than 2x) growth since last month.”
In the next month’s report, we will probably begin to see more of the May 2019 Update and if the public release happens earlier in the month, it is likely that the adoption rate of O18U will come to a halt.
